Adam Jones has become the third driver in a matter of hours to be ruled out of this weekend's round of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill.
The Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing team driver will miss the Scottish rounds of the season after the team ran into technical issues with his SEAT Leon during a pre-event shakedown test which couldn't be resolved in time for Jones to take his place on the grid.
As a result, Jones will join James Nash and the injured Martyn Bell in missing the event.
“I'm obviously very disappointed not to be out there,” he said. “Knockhill is a tight circuit and suits my driving style. I wanted to bag some points this weekend to push my way up the standings, but that's racing. I look forward to Silverstone in two weeks."
Jones' withdrawal means the Cartridge World team will run just a single car this weekend for home hero Gordon Shedden.
