MacDowall meanwhile, who was getting his first-ever run in a BTCC car, stated that he probably won't look to go to the BTCC until 2011.
"This test was to see what a top BTCC team and car is about as well as getting used to rear-wheel-drive and learning the characteristics of this type of car. I thought today went well – Jonathan Adam set me a benchmark time and when we compared data later I was matching what he'd done. It has much more grip than I'm used to," added the youngster.
"Maybe if an opening was to come up towards the end of next season this test would put my name in the frame but, realistically, I think next year it'll be another season of Clios or maybe the SEAT Eurocup."
