Boardman to return to BTCC

Tom Boardman announces his plans to make a return to the BTCC for the 2010 season
After a season racing in the World Touring Car Championship, Tom Boardman has revealed that he will return to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship for the 2010 season.

Boardman, who raced in the now-defunct Production Class from 2001 to 2003 before moving into the SEAT Cupra Championship, will drive a petrol-powered SEAT Leon run by Special Tuning (UK).

Special Tuning (UK) were involved in running Boardman's car last season with Spanish outfit SUNRED Engineering.

“Although the decision to contest the BTCC came quite late, I'm really looking forward to 2010, as I have missed racing in the UK for a few years now,” Boardman said. “It's going to be difficult, with the number of experienced drivers that will continue in the BTCC this year, but we have set our targets high.”

The team remains hopeful of signing a second driver in the coming weeks.
