The Volkswagen Golf that will be used by AmD Milltek Racing for its maiden foray into the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship has hit the track for the first time, a week before the annual season launch at Brands Hatch.
Having rebuilt the car in recent months – something that was well documented in a photo blog on the team's website – Shaun Hollamby hit the track at Brands to turn the first laps ahead of his BTCC debut at Thruxton next month.
“This is a huge challenge for us,” Hollamby told Crash.net
back in January. “The BTCC is the peak of British motorsport and very high up there internationally as well. The BTCC has massive history and for any team or driver coming in, it is a massive challenge.
“That is what makes it so exciting and I'd hope that by the end of the year, we can look back and say we did a good professional job and were a credit to the series.”
