Former SEAT works driver Rob Huff will return to the BTCC paddock for the opening weekend of the season at Thruxton after being named as the first driver of the Ginetta G50 guest car.

Huff, now a leading star in the World Touring Car Championship with Chevrolet, will drive the DynoJet-run car in the opening rounds of the 2010 campaign at the Hampshire circuit, with different drivers set to run in the car at each of the ten race meetings during the course of the year.

"I've followed the G50 Cup for the last three years so am incredibly excited about getting behind the wheel of a G50," Huff said. "Having never tested one before I think its going to be a very interesting weekend of racing - there are some seriously big contenders in this year's championship but I cant wait to get out on track and see what I can do!"

Ginetta chairman Lawrence Tomlinson admitted that it would provide the G50 regulars with an interesting challenge to go up against a WTCC race winner in the opening rounds of the year.

"Its great to start the season with Rob in DynoJet's guest Ginetta G50," he said, "and a real opportunity for Ginetta front runners to pit their skills against a World Touring Car driver."
