Matt Hamilton says he has nothing to lose this weekend as he gets his first full season in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship underway at Thruxton this weekend.
Hamilton joined the grid for the final two meetings of 2009 and returns for a full campaign with his TH Motorsport-run Honda Civic Type-R – getting his first run of the year at Brands Hatch last week.
While has only raced at Thruxton once in the past, Hamilton said he was looking forwards to the weekend and was hopeful of picking up points from the season opener.
“It's been six long months since my last competitive outing, and I'm itching to get going once more,” he said. “I have only raced at Thruxton once before, and that was in my second ever car race in Formula BMW in 2006. That seems a long time ago now, but I don't have any real fears or anxieties about the weekend.
“I really have nothing to lose, and I really want to get in the position of being able to challenge for points finishes.”
Hamilton will collect funds for Help the Heroes over the course of the weekend.
