Boulevard Team Racing set to race on in the BTCC despite the sudden death of team principal Cliff Johnson
Boulevard Team Racing will contest this weekend's Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship race meeting at Oulton Park despite the death of team principal Cliff Johnson.

Johnson passed away suddenly at the weekend, although son Martin has revealed that he still plans to compete in the latest rounds of the season in memory of his father.

β€œIt's what my dad would have wanted,” he said told official series website BTCC.net.

Boulevard has emerged as one of the most popular teams with fans since moving into the BTCC last season after a series of giant-killing performances with its BTC-spec Vauxhall Astra Coupe, most notably at Rockingham last year where Johnson passed double champion Fabrizio Giovanardi to steal a points finish and at the same venue earlier this season when he took a best ever finish of eight – despite starting at the back of the field.

Crash.net extends its deepest sympathies to all involved with the Boulevard team as well as Cliff's family and friends.
