Having proven to be the main man last time out at Oulton Park with pole position, race one victory - his second of the season - and a podium in race two to vault himself firmly into contention for the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship laurels, Tom Onslow-Cole is now focussed on 'the points situation' as the hotly-fought tin-top series arrives at Croft this weekend for the fifth meeting out of ten on its 2010 calendar.

The fast, flowing North Yorkshire circuit marked the scene of Onslow-Cole's debut with Team Aon last summer, and the 23-year-old has happy memories from having scored a rostrum finish on his maiden BTCC appearance there back in 2007 with Team RAC.

Having moved up to fourth spot in the title standings - 22 markers adrift of the lead - courtesy of his Oulton flourish, and with his confidence sky-high, the New Malden ace is optimistic of another strong showing this time around in his LPG-powered Ford Focus, which will be carrying 18kg of success ballast at Croft.

"I always love fast tracks where you really have to get stuck in to produce a quick lap time," he enthused, "and that's what Croft is. It has some really fast sections and some slower bits, but it seems to flow together really well. I love the place, because it is one of those circuits where a brave driver can make the difference.

"We carried success ballast at Oulton Park and the car coped well with it - we almost won the second race there with 45 kilos on board. It will be tough in qualifying at Croft to get the ultimate pace because of the ballast, but the races are a different matter.

"I have got to start thinking about the points situation now. I want to win all the time, of course, but the most important thing is to score big points in every race to keep the pressure on. It is an exciting time, and we are going to one of the tracks I enjoy the most. I simply can't wait."
