Nash to stay with Triple Eight

James Nash to stay with Triple Eight for the rest of the F1 season
James Nash will stay with Triple Eight for the remainder of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season after securing the backing needed to complete the rest of the year.

Nash joined the team ahead of the second round of the season at Rockingham and currently sits 14th in the championship standings heading to Snetterton for the resumption of the 2010 campaign.

The youngster won on the road at the circuit last season before losing his victory post-race and will hope to build on an impressive performance in testing at Snetterton last week – where he posted the fifth quickest time at the wheel of his Vauxhall Vectra.

“We have been working hard with James' backers in securing the backing for the remainder of the season,” Nash's manager Justin Keen said. “In these challenging times, it is great to have this opportunity in place so James and the team can build on what they have learnt so far in working together in what is a relatively new partnership compared to other teams and drivers in the series. With the working relationship between the team and driver now on a solid footing, James is mentally and physically prepared to challenge consistently for podiums during the remainder of the season.

"The pressure is on James and the team to dig deep and unlock the potential that has been shown in previous races, notably a third in qualifying at Brands Hatch earlier in the season and a more recent third place finish at Oulton Park.

“James works well under pressure and I am certain that he will deliver, we are all confident that the team will respond also now that we are secured for the year.”
