Jason Plato says that he is confident that the Silverline Chevrolet team will be strong through the remainder of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season after moving to the top of the standings at Snetterton.
The former champion went into the weekend sitting second in the championship standings but picked up two wins in the three races to jump ahead of Matt Neal.
Plato will now take a 20 point lead to Silverstone next weekend after Neal lost points with a race one retirement in Norfolk and said he was confident of running at the front through the rest of the year.
“We've just really got the car where we want it over the seven week break,” he said. “Now that we've got a handle on the car, we really have made some big gains.
“The performance is there, we made some decent changes to the car, such as roll bars and dampers and now that Chevrolet Cruze is phenomenal to drive. We really have just got it where we need it.
“This is where last year we really got our championship going and I have a sneaky feeling we're going to be very strong again from here on in. I'm feeling very confident for Silverstone.”
