Shedden continues winning run

12 August 2010

Gordon Shedden made it three wins in the last six Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship races with victory at Snetterton.

The Scot won twice at Croft prior to the summer break and was able to maintain his strong form as racing resumed with the sixth round of the year.

Having finished fourth and eighth in the first two races, Shedden jumped up to second place at the start of race three from the second row of the grid and then took the lead of the race when James Nash crashed out on the second lap.

From there he was never headed as he secured a win that means the Honda driver remains firmly in the mix for the championship crown.

“I am delighted to walk away with a win,” he said. “When you consider how tough the British Touring Car Championship is and how competitive it is, any win is great.

“This was a circuit that played to the strengths of the other cars in the championship with the long, long straights and so to be able to stand on top of the podium on a track when we weren't expected to perform is a bonus.

“I am third in the standings and I am right in the mix but we can't afford any slip ups if we are going to stay in the hunt for the crown.”
