Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship organisers TOCA have revealed advanced artists impressions of the Next Generation Touring Car prototype machine which is due to make its track debut later this year.
The car, based on a Toyota Avensis, is currently being build by Buckingham-based GPR Motorsport ahead of a test and development programme which will culminate in an appearance during the final weekend of the BTCC season at Brands Hatch next month.
The car will be the first to be built to the new NGTC regulations which will come into play in the series next season, with the new rules having been designed to bring down the costs involved in both building and running a car.
The NGTC engine has already been seen in three S2000 cars on the grid this season.
“These artist's impressions, rendered from the actual vehicle currently being built, show what a great looking car the new regulations will produce,” BTCC boss Alan Gow said. “I've no doubt that a lot of people will be very impressed when they see the actual car at Brands Hatch.”
Former BTCC title winner James Thompson will drive the car at Brands Hatch.
