Chilton leads Aon 1-2 at Donington
Tom Chilton headed a Team Aon 1-2 in qualifying for the latest round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Donington Park.

In another close battle for top spot, Chilton set a time of 1min 11.328secs around the revised Donington layout to beat Ford partner Onslow-Cole to pole by less than a tenth of a second.

With the top five in the championship all near the head of the times, Gordon Shedden was third quickest for Honda ahead of current championship leader Jason Plato and the second Honda in the hands of Matt Neal. In all, three-tenths of a second covered the top five drivers in a session where very light rain fell throughout.

Andrew Jordan was sixth quickest in his Pirtek Racing Vauxhall Vectra ahead of the sunshine.co.uk Honda Integra of Paul O'Neill, with Rob Collard, Tom Boardman and Alex MacDowall rounding out the top ten.

The session suffered a brief stoppage when the BMW of Andy Neate went off into the gravel at Redgate, while another two BMWs ran into issues during the session. Steven Kane failed to take part in qualifying due to an issue with his car, while Arthur Forster suffered a gearbox problem that saw him pushed back into the garage.

Dave Pinkney also ground to a halt on track with his Vauxhall Vectra and starts down in 18th place as a result.
