Sam Tordoff is to make his Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship debut in the final rounds of the 2010 season at Brands Hatch.
The 21-year-old will become the latest driver to compete for Triple Eight after concluding a deal to contest the season finale at the wheel of a Vauxhall Vectra alongside James Nash.
Tordoff has spent the 2010 season competing in the BTCC-supporting Renault Clio Cup, finishing on the podium twelve times in 18 races, and will head into the touring car debut on the back of a victory at Silverstone during the Renault World Series meeting.
"It all came about after a difficult weekend in the Clios up at Knockhill," he said. "The fact we had two DNFs there pretty much handed the title to Dave Newsham so when the chance came up through a new sponsor I have to look at something different, I thought why not? It's an opportunity that I couldn't really turn down.
"At the moment, I don't know what I'll be doing next year so this is a good opportunity to help make a decision about my plans. It's also a chance to make people more aware of me and to possibly develop a relationship with Triple Eight.
"It will all be good experience for me, and a top ten finish is a realistic goal that I am working towards."
Tordoff follows Fabrizio Giovanardi, Phil Glew, Daniel Lloyd and Jeff Smith in racing the Vectra this season.
