Sam Tordoff said he was happy to score a top ten finish on his debut in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The Renault Clio graduate joined multiple champions Triple Eight for the season finale at Brands Hatch as he evaluates his options for 2011 and made an immediate impression by qualifying eighth on the grid at the wheel of his Vauxhall Vectra.

Although a penalty for exceeding the track limits at Paddock Hill Bend cost him a possible points finish in the opening race, Tordoff fought back to eleventh in race two before securing the final point in race three as he crossed the line just behind newly crowned champion Jason Plato in tenth.

"A top ten finish to round of my first touring car event is fantastic really and a great way to thank my sponsor GardX who enabled me to make my debut today," he said.

"Hopefully, I've impressed the right people because after tasting touring cars for the first time I know that this is where I want to stay."
