Pioneer backing for Honda

Pioneer named as Honda Racing's main sponsor for the 2011 BTCC season
Honda has announced that electronics firm Pioneer will act as the main sponsor for the manufacturer's assault on the 2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Pioneer became a sponsor of the Honda Racing Team last year and will now take on a more prominent role on the Civics of Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden for the 2011 campaign, when the pair aim to defend the team and manufacturer titles won last season.

“Today's announcement takes Honda (UK)'s existing partnership with Pioneer to a new level,” Honda (UK) partnerships manager Sarah Mayo said. “We are delighted to have its support in what promises to be a thrilling season of action. Our target is a clean sweep of all three BTCC trophies – Driver, Team and Manufacturer.”

Paul Carpenter, Managing Director, Pioneer GB Ltd, said Pioneer was proud to be supporting the team into the 2011 season.

“Honda is renowned for its innovation and technical expertise, as well as products of a very high calibre,” he said. “With similar brand values, this is something Pioneer is delighted to be aligned with.

“We wish the team great success for the forthcoming season and look forward to continuing our excellent relationship with Honda.”

Personally i'm not a fan of Team Dynamics, however they have built a good car in the shape of the Little Civic! It hasn't yet won the Championship so if its gonna happen it will be in 2011 as they are replacing it in 2012. If it does i hope it's Shedden who tops the table!
