For James Nash, the 2011 season was one where he came of age in the BTCC - taking his maiden victory and also ending the campaign with the Independents title to his name.

Back with Triple Eight once again but this time with an NGTC turbo engine under the bonnet of his Vauxhall Vectra, Nash produced a championship challenge that was a model of consistency, with 25 top ten finishes from 30 starts being key to his fifth place in the championship standings.

Four podium finishes in the first six races marked him out as one to watch and although he was unable to sustain a challenge on the overall honours, his success in the Independents title race was ranked by team boss Ian Harrison as one of the most satisfying championship wins for an outfit that clinched top honours on numerous occasions running the factory Vauxhall programme.

The undoubted highlight for Nash - title win aside - came at Rockingham where he finally secured his first victory in the series after holding off the challenge of a charging Rob Austin.

What the future holds of Nash is now dependent to an extent on the programme Triple Eight can put together for 2012, but his aim will be to challenge for overall honours and add an outright championship to his Independents success.
