Mat Jackson says he is keen to fight for the BTCC title in 2012 with Motorbase
Jackson keen to challenge
Mat Jackson says he is hopeful of challenging for the 2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship after confirmation that he will once again lead Motorbase into the new season.

Jackson will drive for the team for a third successive season, with 2012 marking his second year behind the wheel of the team's turbo-powered Ford Focus ST.

Having been one of the championship contenders last year, before a disastrous run of bad luck ruled him out of the fight, Jackson will go into the new season keen to fight for the title and he admitted that a good start would be vital to his hopes of beating the likes of Honda to the crown.

“2012 looks to be an exciting year in the BTCC,” he said. “With the New NGTC regulations being adopted by many of the front running teams, the season could prove to be very interesting indeed. We showed last year that we have the car and skills in place to compete against the 'big boys' and hopefully the other teams will experience some teething problems that we can capitalise on!

“It's fantastic to be back driving with Motorbase for the third year in a row – it feels like home now! We have the same core personnel in place for this season, which I believe is key to our challenge for the outright driver's title.”

Jackson is the highest placed driver in the standings from last season not to be confirmed in an NGTC car for the year ahead.
