Liam Griffin is to miss the latest rounds of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship this weekend at Snetterton.
With the taxi company he runs - Addison Lee – being heavily involved with the Olympic games in London, Griffin's business commitments have forced him to take a sabbatical from the series, although he intends to return to the grid before the end of the season.
“Unfortunately, due to unavoidable work and family commitments, I'll be taking a short sabbatical from the BTCC,” he said. “All being well, I hope to be back on track before the end of the season.
“It's a real shame I'm missing this weekend as I was looking forward to getting another shot of the new Snetterton 300 layout, but hopefully I'll be able to make it along at some point over the weekend to cheer the boys on from the pit lane.”
Griffin's decision means that the Redstone Racing team will run just two cars for Mat Jackson and Aron Smith during the sixth meeting of the season.
