Adam Morgan maintained his impressive start to the new Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship with a trio of top six finishes at Donington Park.
The Ciceley Racing driver headed to Donington on the back of a strong start to his season at Brands Hatch and was again on the pace from the outset when the on-track action got underway.
Having qualified in sixth, Morgan was able to come out on top of a battle with fellow Toyota man Frank Wrathall and the MG of Sam Tordoff to take fifth spot – a result he then repeated in race two.
Running on the soft compound Dunlop tyre in race three, Morgan ran inside the top three before slipping back as the performance of his tyres dropped away, leaving him with a third fifth place finish of the day.
It means the 24-year-old sits sixth in the championship standings, having already bettered his points tally for the whole 2012 season with just six races run.
“It's tough to take it all in really,” he said. “When you compare my results from last year with this year, it's like chalk and cheese. It's mind-blowing that I've managed to do this, and I have to say a massive thank you to Ciceley Racing.
“To come to Donington Park and be so competitive has taken me by surprise. To end the weekend with three top five finishes and sixth position in the championship standings is unbelievable.”
