Adam Morgan will hope for an upturn in his home fortunes this weekend as the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads for Oulton Park for the fourth round of the year.
The Ciceley Racing man has enjoyed a fine start to his 2013 campaign and heads to Oulton having scored in each of the nine races run to date – with five top six finishes meaning he has already picked up more points already this year than in all of 2012.
In the time since Thruxton, Morgan and the team have tested at Donington Park to try and improve performance in his Toyota Avensis and he heads into the weekend hoping to add to his points tally.
However, Morgan has previously struggled for results at his home circuit, with the 24-year-old insisting he was keen to put that right this time around.
“There is no reason why he can't bag more points at Oulton,” he said. “We made some good progress in testing last week at Donington Park, concentrating on general set-up and checking all the systems were okay. I feel we have a reasonably good set-up for Oulton now; the Toyota felt really good and we've come a long way since last year, so hopefully we will be right up there.
“There were a number of teams testing at the same time as us at Donington, including Speedworks, eBay, Honda and Motorbase, and I think that we were among the quickest. However, we have to remember that it's only a test day and you never really know what the others are doing.
“I'm really looking forward to Oulton. It's my home track and you can guarantee that all my family friends and home supporters will be out in force. The irony is that although I love the circuit I've not had brilliant luck there in the past. Hopefully we can turn that around this year.”
