Morgan aims to bounce back

Adam Morgan seeks to bounce back from his race three retirement at Croft when the BTCC season bursts back into life this weekend
Adam Morgan says he is eager to bounce back from a challenging weekend at Croft when the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season resumes this weekend at Snetterton.

The Ciceley Racing driver saw his run of consecutive points finishes come to an end in the final race prior to the summer break when he slid off in wet conditions, causing heavy damage to the front of his Toyota Avensis.

With the small family-run team having worked hard to repair the damage over the summer break, the 24-year-old was able to conduct a productive test at Snetterton last week and will now target a return to form at a circuit where he showed impressive pace last year in taking his best qualifying result to date.

“We had quite a good day [during testing],” he said. “It was our first time out since putting the Avensis back together after Croft, so it was a bit of a shakedown to begin with, making sure everything was OK, and then moving on to proper testing. We tried quite a lot of set-up changes, and it was a productive day, our times encouraging compared with others who were there and who have tested at Snetterton recently.

“My target for the weekend is three finishes and to get back on track after the mistake I made in the final race at Croft, which I am still kicking myself about. I want to be nice and consistent, hopefully from towards the front end of the grid, and to keep the points ticking over.

“Snetterton is one of my favourite tracks - I love the infield bit - and last year I had my best qualifying there. It would be nice to repeat that and to repay the boys for all their hard work in repairing the car.”
