Jack Goff is to miss the next round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship after budget issues forced him to sit out the Knockhill weekend.
The Renault Clio Cup champion has produced a series of impressive performances this season in a Team HARD.-run Vauxhall Insignia, capped with a best-yet eighth in qualifying last time out at Snetterton.
The youngster, who currently sits 18th in the championship standings, was set to compete at Knockhill for the first time but will now miss the trip to Scotland to work on ensuring his participation in the final three meetings of the year.
“Jack has shown some astonishing pace at times already this season and we know the car is very quick,” team boss Tony Gilham said. “There is plenty more to come from Jack and the Insignia and we look forward to seeing what he can do when we get to Rockingham in a few weeks time.
“I'm sure he will be back better than ever and finally get the positions he deserves. I am confident that we will still see Jack on the podium this year - he has the pace and just needs to get that little bit of luck that has been missing so far this season.”
The team has already confirmed that Kieran Gallagher will drive its other Insignia in Scotland for his debut in the series, while Chris Knox also tested the car at Brands Hatch yesterday [Wednesday].
