Organisers of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship have revealed that the Oulton Park round will revert to an alternative layout next year.

Having run on the Island layout in recent seasons, the series will instead compete on the longer International layout for 2014, marking the first time since the 1990s that the BTCC will have competed on the longest version of the Cheshire circuit.

Rather than turning right at the hairpin at Island Bend, the drivers will instead carry straight on round a sweeping left-hander before going into the cambered right-hander at Shell Oils.

Following the chicane at Britten's, the cars will then rejoin the Island layout for the high-speed run down to Knickerbrook.

The change will see the length of each lap increase from 2.26 miles up to 2.69 miles.
