Andrew Jordan in awards galore

Andrew Jordan: It has been an incredible couple of weeks and I am very grateful to all those who have presented us with awards.
Andrew Jordan has enjoyed a remarkable run of major awards following his overall title victory in the 2013 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The first awards ceremony came when the annual BTCC awards were presented in Gloucestershire in late November and he collected the overall BTCC crown and the Independents' Trophy, while Pirtek Racing was presented with the Independent Teams Trophy.

Next up on the awards schedule was the annual Autosport Awards ceremony in Central London. On a night when the award winners included F1 aces Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastien Ogier, Jordan was elated to be announced as 'National Driver of the Year'. This award, voted for by readers of Autosport magazine, was evidence of Jordan's growing status as one of Britain's best-known racing drivers.

The day after the Autosport Awards came the annual awards ceremony for the British Racing Drivers' Club [BRDC] and Jordan was again celebrated, this time with the John Cobb Trophy for the 'best performance by a British driver'. To complete another great day for the team, Jordan's father Mike was presented with the Colin Chapman Trophy for 'team spirit performance of the season'.

Finally, to complete a remarkable few weeks, Jordan was announced as 'driver of the year' by the Guild of Motoring Writers and was presented with the trophy by Tom Hunt, the son of former F1 World champion James. Former winners of this prestigious trophy include Jim Clark and Mario Andretti.

“It has been an incredible couple of weeks and I am very grateful to all those who have presented us with awards,” said Jordan. “Winning the Autosport award was very special because it was voted for by the fans, and that means a lot to me. Then, to be recognised by the BRDC was a very proud moment for both of us and to win an award once won by Jim Clark was a very humbling experience and completed an amazing few days. It has been a fantastic way to finish the season!”
