Gordon Shedden will start his first attempt at the Bathurst 12 Hours from second on the Class C grid after qualifying for the event at the famous Mount Panorama circuit.
The former BTCC champion posted a time of 2min 20.9secs at the wheel of the Compareinsurance.com.au Motionsport Lotus Exige he will share with Pete Storey and Ben Gower.
It leaves the team second in class behind the Ginetta of the Griffith Corporation team, with Storey set to take the wheel for the start of the race at 7pm UK today [Saturday].
“The thing with a Twelve Hour race is it's all about getting to the end,' Shedden said. “You just want the car to stay in one piece for the first eleven hours and then it's all about the last 30 minutes. I'm really happy with the car, it's doing everything it's supposed to do.
“We're in a good place and that's all you can ask for.”
