Rotek takes Class B pole at Mount Panorama

Rotek Racing takes Class B pole for the Bathurst 12 Hours
BTCC newcomers Rotek Racing will start their assault on the Bathurst 12 Hours from Class B pole after a fine performance in qualifying for the race at Mount Panorama.

The team, which will enter an Audi S3 in the BTCC this season, is fielding its Oakley-backed Audi R8 LMS in the endurance event, with Oliver Gavin, Rob Huff, Kevin Gleason and Richard Meins on driving duties.

Gavin posted the best time for the team in the opening qualifying session, with a mechanical issue then preventing Huff from going quicker when he took over at the wheel for second qualifying.

Ultimately, it didn't matter as the team took Class B pole and 13th overall on the grid by more than half a second.

Fellow BTCC newcomers United Autosport will start from ninth overall with its Audi R8 LMS Ultra, which is running in Class A.
