Croft Circuit:Tordoff fastest for MG at Croft

Sam Tordoff goes fastest for MG at Croft with Pirtek's Andrew Jordan following closely behind in second.
MG's Sam Tordoff ends the BTCC practice running top of the pile after a rain shortened final Croft session.

Torfoff took over from Colin Turkington's early morning supremacy with a 1 minute 24.115 second lap, beating the championship leader's previous best from FP1 by almost half a second.

A red flag caused by the gravel stricken Audi of Rob Austin coupled with the spitting rain intensifying prompted an early end to proceedings with no one able to improve in lap time on the increasingly wet Croft circuit.

Turkington's BMW stayed in fourth while defending champion Andrew Jordan and Mercedes' finished FP2 in exactly where they finished FP1 in second and third.

Glynn Gleddie after already achieving a marvellous seventh in the opening running bettered that again to set the fifth quickest time ahead of Austin's Audi.

Honda's Gordon Shedden placed his Civic Tourer much higher up the order in seventh while BTCC legend Alain Menu edged his VW further into the top ten in eighth.

Martin Depper finished the session in his highest positioning of the season so far in ninth while Dave Newsham did likewise in his AMD Tuning Focus to complete the top ten.
