MG's Jason Plato's sets a searing pace to end FP2 over a second clear of the rest of the BTCC field ahead of qualifying at Snetterton this afternoon.
After failing to set a time during the damp and disjointed FP1 session earlier in the morning, Plato was finally able to show his true pace by setting a 1 minute 56.197 second lap around the Snetterton circuit.
The Triple Eight man's time came at the end of a relentless sequence of laps midway through the final practice session which left the rest of the pack scratching their heads ahead of qualifying.
Even WSR BMW's Turkington couldn't match the MG's pace in second while Adam Morgan propelled his Mercedes A-Class into a strong third by the end of the running.
Fourth was the Airwaves Focus of Mat Jackson with Jack Goff, clearly adapting quickly to his new VW machine, in fifth.
Rob Collard made it two eBay BMW's in the top ten in sixth and in turn led the second MG of Sam Tordoff who trails his team mate Plato in seventh by a staggering 1.5 second margin.
Next up was Tom Ingram in eighth for Speedworks Toyota with Honda's Matt Neal and FP1 pacesetter Alain Menu completing the top ten in ninth and tenth.
