MG's Jason Plato has set a roaring pace to top the FP2 timesheets in what was otherwise a close final practice at Rockingham ahead of qualifying this afternoon.

Picking up from where his team mate Sam Tordoff left from the mornings earlier session, Plato's 1 minute 22.803 second lap made him comfortably the class of the 31-strong field with over four-tenths separating himself and his nearest challenger Andrew Jordan in second.

Behind Plato, Jordan led an ultra-competitive five-car queue with each of the runners all lapping within the same tenth of a second on the near two-mile Sportscar configuration.
