Sam Tordoff has gone top of the final BTCC practice timesheets after leading an MG one-two ahead of Jason Plato prior to qualifying later this afternoon at Silverstone.

Plato had led most of the FP2 running but Tordoff bettered the former double BTCC-champions effort to go almost two-tenths quicker with 58.624 second lap, announcing himself as the favourite to claim another pole-position.

WSR's Colin Turkington lurked just a tenth behind the Triple Eight pairing in third position as he vies to wrap up his second BTCC title with a round to spare.
