WSR's Colin Turkington has drawn first blood at Brands Hatch after pipping his BTCC title rival Jason Plato by two-tenths during the first running of the weekend.

MG with Plato and Sam Tordoff had topped most of the wet session after setting the early pace but Turkington eventually grabbed the ascendency during the final third of the running as the times began to tumble slightly.

Turkington's 1 minute 44.007 second lap around the GP circuit was good enough to displace Plato from the top-spot by two-tenths while the former double BTCC-champion enjoyed a mammoth six-tenth gap ahead of his team mate Tordoff.
