Former triple WTCC-champion Andy Priaulx will make a sensational return the British Touring Car Championship after becoming the second driver to be confirmed at WSR.

WSR team boss Dick Bennetts ended weeks of speculation by announcing Priaulx as Sam Tordoff's team mate this morning at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham.

Priaulx - who brings the backing of his long time sponsor IHG Rewards Club to West Surrey Racing - began his tin-top career in the BTCC back in the early 2000's for Vauxhall and Honda before conquering the ETCC and WTCC on numerous occasions.

The Guernseyman's mammoth comeback campaign to the BTCC will coincide with his BMW factory commitments in the European Le Mans Series as well as the Tudor American Sportscar championship.

Priaulx's last foray in touring cars lasted in a two-year spell driving the BMW M3 in the DTM.

"I have the most amazing 2015 racing season ahead of me. I can't wait to return to the BTCC with my long term partner IHG," said Priaulx.

"In the BTCC the BMW 125i M Sport has already proved to be the car to beat in this ultra competitive series and, after 13 years racing with the brand, I am really confident about what to expect in a championship that I consider unfinished business.

"Dick Bennetts' West Surrey Racing team has an incredible string of successes to its name, including the 2014 BTCC title, and I can't wait to work with all the guys there.

"I also want to say a big thank you to BMW Motorsport for providing me with such a varied programme this year. Not many drivers get such chances and it makes me proud to do all these series in such amazing cars."

Priaulx's appointment to the championship-winning squad means 2014 BTCC title winner Colin Turkington faces yet more uncertainty with two of the three WSR seats now out of reach for the double-champion.
