BTCC season launch remains at Donington Park in 2016
The British Touring Car Championship season curtain-raiser is set to stay at Donington Park in 2016.
The British Touring Car Championship season curtain-raiser is set to stay at Donington Park in 2016, with the only official pre-season test day scheduled for 22nd March.
It will be the fourth consecutive year that the Leicestershire circuit has played host to the event, with a media presentation in the morning followed by the first chance to see the 2016 drivers and cars in action all together.
Donington Park managing director Christopher Tate says his circuit will welcome BTCC back with open arms before it hosts the second round of the championship on the 16-17 April.
“We're delighted to welcome back the BTCC for its annual season launch in 2016,” Tate said. “The fact that this will be the fourth consecutive season that Donington Park hosted this important event is testament to how well it has been received by everyone involved in the BTCC, as well as the media and fans alike.”
The confirmation completes the 2016 BTCC calendar with Brands Hatch's Indy circuit set to host the season-opener on the first weekend of April.
