Warren Scott will play no further part in this weekend's British Touring Car Championship action at Silverstone after doctors confirm the Team BMR owner driver has fractured two vertebrae.

Scott had featured towards the top of the timesheets during the morning practice running but his weekend came to an abrupt halt when the 43-year old plunged into the concrete wall at Copse Corner during the dying seconds of FP1.

The Volkswagen CC driver was immediately taken to the circuit's medical centre following the shunt but was then later transferred to the local hospital for an X-ray and further medical checks, where it was confirmed Scott suffered two fractured vertebrae.
