Defending British Touring Car Champion Colin Turkington is showing no sign of relinquishing his crown without a fight after turning up the pace in FP2 ahead of his BMR team mate and fellow title protagonist Jason Plato.

In a session where three of the five leading title contenders locked out the top three order, thanks to championship leader Gordon Shedden setting the third quickest time, Turkington bolted to the top with a 1 minute 31.302 second lap around the Grand Prix circuit.

Ever present in second, Plato couldn't match a series of laps Turkington strung together during the final third of the action but managed to go marginally faster than the chasing Honda Civic Type-R of Shedden in third.
