Honda Yuasa Racing given extra BTCC racing licence

The full list of the 32 TOCA BTCC licences has been published for the 2016 BTCC championship.
Honda Yuasa Racing have been handed an extra TOCA BTCC licence (TBL) on loan for the 2016 BTCC season, signalling its intention to run as a three-car squad.

The BTCC manufacturer champions, who claimed the 2015 drivers' title with Gordon Shedden, is expected to hand its third licence to Honda development driver Jack Clarke for the new season.

The Support Our Paras Racing squad has also been loaned one 2016 TOCA TBL licence, while Speedworks Motorsport which runs Toyota Avensis machinery in the Independents' championship has been given an additional licence to run a two-car team. The new TOCA BTCC licences indicate 32 entries are expected to be confirmed for the 2016 season.

The TBL system was introduced in 2014 when 30 TBLs were made available to teams to secure each entry for a minimum of three seasons. TOCA retained two further TBLs that may be loaned to a suitable entrant, but these will not be sold or permanently transferred.
