An ITV cameraman has escaped major injury following a freak incident which saw Hunter Abbott's summersaulting Chevrolet roll into the manned television tower on the pit-straight during the start of race three at Snetterton.

Abbott's Chevrolet was catapulted into mid-air while trying to avoid a multi-car start-line skirmish, involving the Ford Focus of Alex Martin and BKR's Mark Howard along with the Audi of Ollie Jackson.

The Power Maxed Racing driver's Chevrolet ended up knocking the TV tower over before finally resting to a halt on the Armco barrier.

The cameraman in question has been confirmed to have been given the all-clear by the on-track medics.

Unsurprisingly the incident triggered an immediate red-flag for the second time in succession following the dramatic pile up which marred the start of the previous race.
