WIX Racing's Adam Morgan has set the pace during a damp first British Touring Car Championship practice at Silverstone ahead of AmD Tuning's Ollie Jackson in second.

A prolonged shower of drizzle hit the 40-minute running early in the session, which created a heavily jumbled order with the majority of drivers not setting a representative time in the slippery conditions.

Setting his time before the rain shower properly settled in, Morgan lapped the National layout of the Grand Prix venue almost a second faster than Jackson's Audi S3 after producing a 1 minute 03.540 second lap.

Running his stunningly distinct new livery this weekend, title contender Mat Jackson set the third quickest time aboard his Motorbase Performance Ford Focus, marginally ahead of Matt Simpson in fourth.

Jake Hill completed the top-five ahead of his Toyota stablemate Tom Ingram while Stewart Lines finished the first session in a high of seventh position.

Ashley Sutton, Rob Austin and Matt Neal completed the remainder of the top-ten, all over two-seconds shy in what proved to be a truncated first session.

Championship leader Sam Tordoff was 14th in his West Surrey Racing BMW 125i M Sport just behind the leading Subaru effort of Warren Scott in 13th.
