Speedworks Motorsport's Tom Ingram will not start from his P2 qualifying slot after failing a ride height check following the 30-minute British Touring Car Championship shootout at Brands Hatch.
Following a wild final qualifying sesion of 2016, Ingram fell just 0.006s of beating Subaru's Colin Turkington to pole position but later lost his position after his Toyota Avensis failed the mandatory ride-height check.
Ingram's dismissal from the order has moved his Toyota stablemate Rob Austin onto the front row while Jason Plato crept into the top-three directly behind his BMR team mate.
Championship leader Sam Tordoff also moved up into the top-ten, three places behind his main title rival Gordon Shedden, who lines up seventh.
Had it not been for his penalty, P2 would have marked Ingram's fifth front row result of the year.
