Brands Hatch Grand Prix: Neal ruled out of BTCC finale with concussion

Honda's Matt Neal will not contest the BTCC decider on medical ground after suffering from concussion during his race two shunt at Brands Hatch.
Honda's Matt Neal will not contest the British Touring Car Championship decider on medical ground after suffering from concussion during his race two shunt at Brands Hatch.

The former triple BTCC champion suffered a huge a crash into the tyre wall on the run down to the Graham Hill bend after making slight contact with MG's Ashley Sutton.

Prior to the incident, Neal had temporarily slowed after the ignition of his Honda Civic Type-R cut out on the run up to Druids.

Having appeared to regained his momentum, that minimal contact with Sutton pitched Neal into the wall.

Neal looked visibly shaken but emerged from the car before being taken to the medical centre.

The Team Dynamics would have entered the finale still in contention of taking a record equalling fourth title, 20 points back from championship leader Sam Tordoff.
