Kartworld Racing owner/driver Jason Hughes
has confirmed that he is aiming to run a limited programme in the BTCC this season.
The privateer team, which made the step up to the BTCC from the now defunct production class in 2004, was not on the provisional entry list unveiled during the media day at Donington Park but Hughes told Crash.net
that he was confident that the MG ZS would appear during the course of the season.
“It's all a case of money, because I don't want to start the full season without having the funds to complete it,” he said, “I want to do it properly. The plan at the moment is still to do selected rounds this season and we'll play it by ear as to which ones, but they are likely to be at the circuits where the car performed strongly last season.
“There are a few other things I want to do business wise and in others things that I can focus my attention on this season as well, but I'm aiming to work towards getting the right budget in place to do the full thing again in 2006.”
Hughes also confirmed that he will stick with the V6 powered MG ZS for his races this season.
