Adam Jones went for the female touch at
Brands Hatch with an all woman pit crew during the latest round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
New team sponsor Diva's modelling agency came up with the idea for an all girl crew on the car rather than just a grid girl, although it wasn't just a publicity stunt for the Xero Competition team as all the ladies involved had been for a days training in their duties at the teams workshop.
This weekends racing at
Brands Hatch saw a return to the reliability that the team was missing at
Donington Park and
Knockhill with the Lexus IS200.
After qualifying 18th for race one, Jones worked his way up to twelfth position by the time the chequered flag was shown. However a coming together with
Chris Stockton at Paddock Hill Bend meant that race two ended after only a few laps as he was stuck in the gravel trap.
Undeterred, Jones saved his best performance for the final race as he made a storming start from the back of the grid to climb up to 15th place by the end of lap one – going on to post his best lap time of the day on the way to another twelfth place, despite a problem with the rear suspension on the Lexus preventing him from going as quickly as possible.
