Neal secures second Honda win
5 September 2010
Matt Neal secured a second Honda win of the day with victory in race two of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship's annual trip to Knockhill.
Neal jumped up to second at the start after getting ahead of both Steven Kane and a slow-starting Alex MacDowall to run behind team-mate Gordon Shedden and then took the lead on lap ten after the pair broke away following a Safety Car period brought out following an accident involving Dave Pinkney and Rob Collard on the opening lap.
Following Neal's move at the hairpin, the top two were able to break away from a huge battle for third between Steven Kane, Tom Chilton and Jason Plato.
Kane held the place until being passed by Plato with three laps to go, with the Chevrolet man having already got ahead of Chilton a matter of laps earlier. While Plato went on to take third place, Kane and Chilton battled for fourth place with the pair tangling at Leslie's.
While Chilton continued in fourth place, Kane was tipped into a spin that saw him collect the chasing Paul O'Neill. O'Neill dropped down to tenth as a result although Kane got going and took the flag fifth.
Mat Jackson was sixth behind Kane in the sister Airwaves BMW while Tom Onslow-Cole took seventh, Andrew Jordan eighth and MacDowall ninth.
The reverse grid draw sees Onslow-Cole start race three from pole.
