Matt Neal reclaims the BTCC points lead with victory in the final race at Silverstone
Neal leads after race three victory
Matt Neal will take a five point lead into the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season finale after winning the final race of the weekend at Brands Hatch.

Neal moved into the lead of the race on the opening lap having started from the second row of the grid and then led for the remainder – aside from one lap where he allowed team-mate Gordon Shedden through to claim a bonus point for leading a lap.

Neal then reclaimed the lead and took the flag ahead of Shedden for a Honda 1-2 that provisionally secured the manufacturers' title for the team.

James Nash took third place for Triple Eight after benefitting from a late off for Andy Neate, who had held the position before going off through the gravel at Stirlings and eventually retiring. Nash had earlier been under pressure from Paul O'Neill before he was forced to retire with a driveshaft issue.

Tom Chilton took fourth for Team Aon ahead of Mat Jackson, while Jason Plato added a sixth place finish to his earlier double victory. It means the Chevrolet man goes to Silverstone sitting second in the standings, level on points with Shedden and five down on Neal.

Tom Onslow-Cole, Andrew Jordan, Tom Boardman and Nick Foster rounded out the top ten.

Fagin I like your attitude but lets face in the prince of whinging Mr plato started after the last race about how he has not got a chance at Silverstone. I expect the Hondas to be further handicapped as I am sure Gow will re-work the rules again as they won too easily. The only surprising thing is that they are allowed to keep four wheels on there cars. Platos smug expression on his smirking face after this weekends race wins says it all. he's got his own way and teh BTCC is now the Plato touring car championship as he seems to make the rules up
