As Jackson sped on unimpeded to the chequered flag to make it two in a row and his third victory of an at times luckless campaign, Plato fended off Nash to the close to make it an ominous Chevrolet one-two-three. With Turkington crossing the line fourth and Giovanardi coming alive in the latter stages of the race to snatch fifth from Airwaves duo Adam and Collard, though, the lack of team orders might yet cost Plato dear, as Jackson out-scored his team-mate by four points that could prove pivotal come season's end.
Early leader Collard, Jelley and Adam made it a trio of BMWs in sixth to eighth, with Paul O'Neill continuing his consistent points-scoring run in ninth aboard the Sunshine.co.uk with Tech-Speed Honda Integra and former double title-winner Neal scraping the final point in tenth. The third VX Racing machine of Jordan could manage no better than twelfth, enjoying an energetic late-race duel with series debutant and former British Grand Prix winner Johnny Herbert, who eventually took the flag 13th.
