Brands Hatch: Shedden wins finale but Jordan crowned

Gordon Shedden wins the final race of the BTCC season but Andrew Jordan secures the championship title
Andrew Jordan has been crowned 2013 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship - becoming the second youngest driver to lift the title.

Starting from the back of the grid, Jordan produced a champion's drive in his Pirtek Racing Honda Civic to storm through the field to cross the line in ninth place - adding a bonus point for fastest lap in the process.

That total of eight points was enough to put him out of reach of his challengers, although Gordon Shedden did his best as he led the race from start-to-finish, allowing him to secure second place in the standings in the process.

Shedden couldn't relax however with huge pressure from the Vauxhall of Jack Goff; the youngster producing easily his best race performance of the season to push the outgoing champion hard before being forced to settle for second place.

Mat Jackson took third place for Airwaves Racing in the season finale ahead of Colin Turkington, Aron Smith and Dave Newsham.

Jason Plato's title challenge ended with a tenth place finish after a brave effort on Finals Day, seeing him take third in the standings behind Jordan and Shedden.

The final Jack Sears Trophy win of the year went to title winner Lea Wood.

Most deserving driver for the Championship!!! Consistency was key. Phenomenal driving, kept his head down and got on with it. Well done mate. I don't think anyone can deny how much he deserves this! Fantastic! Bring on 2014!!

Was great to see the reaction & reception from the paddock, drivers, and especially the Pirtek team. Been rooting for him all season, and race 2 today was grim to watch, but the whole team got their heads down and showed what can be done. A brilliant, level headed drive in race 3 to claim the championship.
