Round 12: Integra reign over as Turkington wins.

After five straight victories at Thruxton, the winning streak of the Honda Integra came to a close after Colin Turkington claimed honours in the final race of the fourth round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The Ulsterman made the perfect start to the race to jump ahead of pole man James Kaye and put in a solid display behind the wheel to give West Surrey Racing its first victory under the Team RAC banner.

With Kaye proving to be slower than the cars around him, Turkington was able to break away from the pack and was never challenged - despite a safety car period in the opening laps.

That came after an incident for Darren Turner who saw his final race end with a heavy trip into the barriers at Club after an ambitious over-taking move from Gordon Shedden - who was attempting to make a double pass on both the SEAT and the MG of Rob Collard - resulted in the silver and yellow Leon being sent off into the barriers.

Shedden though would suffer later on, when a puncture - possibly as a result of the contact earlier on - led to him pitting on lap 14 and losing a probable third podium f the day.

Neal would make it three podiums in a row though as he claimed second, battling past Kaye haf way through the race on his way to healthy championship lead goig into the World Cup summer break, while the final step on the podium went the way of Jason Plato who finally enjoyed some good luck after two retirements to claim third.

Kaye just mised out on the podium in fourth, with Dave Pinkney fifth and Rob Collard completing the top six.

Alongside Turner, Mike Jordan failed to make it to the flag after more technical gremlins plauged the Tem Eurotech Integra and Martyn Bell failed to make the start after the Geoff Steel Racing team was unable to fix the broken driveshaft that ended his second race on the opening lap.
