Alex McDowall

Alex McDowall

McDowall could, and should, have managed more than two podium finishes in his debut BTCC season but he still ended it as the top rookie driver having secured a factory drive with Chevrolet. The pace was clear to see and he took two pole positions during the season, becoming the youngest pole-sitter in BTCC history. However, victory proved to be elusive and he was unlucky to miss out at Snetterton where an issue off the line meant he dropped like a stone through the field from the front row of the grid. However, a year alongside title winner Plato will have improved him as a driver no end as he works towards 2011.
