Star of the show was Alonso, closely followed by Massa.

Quote of the day was from Lulu "I've just been overtaken by a Williams"
and 2 Ferraris, 2 Red Bulls, 2 McLarens, a Lotus, a Toro Rosso and a Sauber, comical.

ty. I wonder....if they started the mercs in reverse, would they be any faster?
Re classic comments, what about " I cant drive any slower" or the one from the pits telling him to try adjusting his brake balance imagine having to say this to the "best development" driver on the grid!

Richard, I thought they had started in reverse! lol

On a slightly more serious note what do you think is wrong with the Merc?
I don't see it as just tyre deg, their first lap pace was garbage and that cant be blamed on tyre deg. Heavy fuel loads seem to be affecting the thing just as much as tyres. It's been a while since I've seen a car go from dominant on Saturdays to a laughing stock on Sundays.

Not only the best development driver on the grid Richard, also the best at tyre management according to some deluded fanboy a couple of weeks ago. I loved the post BBC interview...

Interviewer - "does that advice from the pitwall help you?"

Lulu - "no, not really"

after quali, lulu was not very happy and said that he didn't know what was wrong or how to correct it. nico did not complain though.

but it is hard to know what is wrong with the car. they have been playing around with the fricking suspension for a couple of years now, and whereas lotus have it right, merc do not have the right expertise. this suspension by raising the front under braking, is putting more load on the front tyres and probably overheats them more than the back, and this could damage handling. interesting that the reason lulu was told to alter his brake balance was because his front brakes were overheating and the rears too cold. again possibly due to what I said above?
it would be interesting to see how the car would perform if they went back to normal suspension. sometimes it pays not to try and be too clever. don't forget, the merc ddrs was a downright failure.

Sutil, bad luck aside, was lapping as fast as the leaders. He is so much faster and a better racer than DiResta. It is a shame that the team's troubles seem to continually fall on him.
At least Grosean's problem allowed him to retire. Adrian had to pound around for the entire race after the wheel issued on lap ten. That's a lot of work for no points.

There's a serious lack of fanboys polluting Crash today for some reason, hardly any disagrees, no idiotic arguments. It's great a bit like going back to F1 forums of 10 years ago, thanks for silencing your fans Lulu I owe you one.
